Turn On FRIENDLY FIRE

Life is sometimes so funny and sarcastic that it simply must be written down.

For the last two months, I have been preparing smaller artworks for my upcoming ART DROP – a thing I’ve never done before, but I really want to try out. The goal? Deliver affordable, COOL STUFF to the people of the internet.

Follow my journey through social media:

And right as I’m finishing almost 30 small art pieces – together with those cute, horrific wooden teeth bookmarks – it turns out I can’t legally ship them. Well, I can sell them, but I can’t send them around the European Union because of new packaging laws.

Mic drop.

Headshot!

That is so funny I’m literally laughing through tears. I’ve been working on this on and off for two months and – kaboom – headshot!

But look, I don’t give a rat’s ass about politics or the stupid laws of the big and mighty. The art drop is still happening and I will be sending everything out, no worries.

Maybe I’ll just pause on new artwork development for a moment (I have some crazy ideas cooking that I could create with a laser cutter and plywood) and focus on finishing all the smaller pieces currently in the making.

A Note to the Game Developers (The EU)

Surely this law is not here to stay, because it will be the death of smaller creators across 26 countries and abroad. Surely this is just an oversight on their behalf.

As creators, artists, and craft enthusiasts, selling even a few artworks, candles, or knitted sweaters lets us thrive on feelings of accomplishment and success. It gives us hope and motivation to keep going, keep creating.

So, if you’re trying to fight wasteful packaging practices from Amazon or giant cheap export platforms – please don’t kill us in the process.

Turn on FRIENDLY FIRE in the game settings so we don’t have to enable cheat codes just to survive to the next level!

P.S. I’ve attached a few photos of the artwork I’m making for this drop. The backgrounds are a bit messy because my improvised home studio is in total chaos at the moment while I rearrange things for a better creative workspace.
